Kiwis is a specie that are planted throughout Chile, from the V to the VIII Region, passing through warmer to colder climates. This climatological difference marks a strong impact on its post-harvest, since not all have the same respiratory rate. As shown below, kiwis grown in warmer areas have a higher respiration rate than kiwis grown in cooler areas.

This is why studying kiwis more thoroughly and developing a specific respiratory rate by zone is of the utmost importance to achieve their correct commercialization.
