It is effective and it is proven:High relative humidity decreases softening

By Liventus inCommodities

The blueberry is composed mostly of water (<80%), for this reason it is very sensitive to the vapor pressure deficit that exists within the storage environment. If this deficit increases, the blueberry will lose water, negatively affecting its firmness.

A high relative humidity around the fruit decreases the vapor pressure deficit, but this must always be in balance, since if it is greater than 95% (as in the case of Modified Atmosphere bags), the right conditions are met, for the proliferation of fungi, which brings with it the presence of mycelium or rot.

Here comes the pallet bag as a solution to this problem, where the air flow is allowed without problems inside the pallet, avoiding condensation, but at the same time increasing the relative humidity between 92-95%.
