Physiological disorders are associated with prolonged storage. Extended storage causes the fruit to consume most of its sugars, therefore, depleting the reserves from which it draws energy, which causes damage at the cellular level.
The Liventus Controlled Atmosphere (CA) is capable of efficiently inhibiting the respiratory rate of the fruit, decreasing its metabolism, and therefore, the consumption of these energy reserves, extending post-harvest life to prevent cell damage due to exhaustion of these reserves. In addition, by controlling the respiratory rate, the activity of enzymes associated with the development of different physiological disorders is also inhibited.
